But what if you were only to take the surveys that pay top dollar and forget about the lower paying ones? The problem with that is after you register with the survey company, you will need an invitation before you can take the surveyyou cant just choose any survey you want to take before you receive an invitation (if that were the case, everyone would only fill out $50 surveys).

Remember, you receive invitations according to your profile. And this goes for most of the survey companies.

As I mentioned earlier, the surveys you get invited to usually pay you anywhere from 1-$10 dollars. So common sense tells anyone that they will have to be registered with many survey companies to even make a decent amount of money. You dont have to register with all the survey companies all at oncea few registrations a day will suffice. With that being said, the more surveys you sign up for, the more chances you will get to make money.

Please dont feel disappointed in the beginning because of all the $1 surveys in your mailbox; keep on registering with quality survey companies until you start to see those $6-$10 (even $25) offers. After a while, if you keep filling out the low paying surveys, you will see more and more of the much higher paying surveys. Patience is very important in the beginning.

Often times, people are spammed if they are not careful when registering for surveys. This is the best way to protect yourself against spam.

Rule #2: Dont entertain any bonus offers when registering for surveys.

When registering for surveys, sometimes you will see all sorts of bonus offers from other products/companies; my advice to you is to hit the no, thanks button and continue on with registration. If you dont, you will most likely be subjected to spamthat is another reason why I recommend you open up a free email account with Yahoo or Hotmail: just incase you accidentally agree to one of these offers.

I have been a victim of this, where my name and email address were sold to a third party and I actually had to change my email address to stop the spam. No matter how legit some survey companies seem, some will still sell your information to third parties.

Rule #3: Dont join a paid database until you read this

You can find a good amount of paid surveys by doing simple searches for them for free. So the question is: why should anyone pay for something that they can get for free? In the beginning, I found several good paid surveys by doing some simple searches.

Being the lazy person that I am though, I still decided to join a paid database and have all the best paid surveys in one place. I felt more at ease selecting paid surveys from a paid database like SurveyScout because I knew every research company listed was a quality company that protected my information. The one-time price was very reasonable anyway so I didnt find it much of a burden. Some of my visitors use paid databases and love it because it makes everything a little bit easier.

Nonetheless, you can go either way when deciding between a free database and a paid database. Just be sure to know the difference between the two before you decide.

Rule #4: Dont lie about your contact information

If planning on receiving payment, you have to use your genuine contact information. At first you may feel a bit strange giving out some of your personal details, but in most cases your information is well protected. If you are not honest when you register, you cant expect to receive your payment. Dont waste your own timesign up with your real contact information. But be sure to register with a legit research/survey company.

Rule#5: Protect yourself; protect your information

This is really an extension of rule #1 on day one. But now we are going to focus on other security protocols. Always look for privacy policies and seals of approval to ensure your information is kept secret. When you see seals of approval such as the Better Business Bureau (BBB) on a survey website, you know you are protected and are dealing with a company that values privacy.

Rule #6: Dont fall for the promises of wealth

In my experiences, it is difficult to make a full-time income with surveys (thousands a week for example). But you can still make a good stream of additional income to help with your bills and expenses.

The amount of money you make can, and will, fluctuate because the amounts of surveys you receive are very inconsistent. For example, I had one month where I pulled in over $400 dollars and another where I pulled in $88. It all depends on how many surveys you fill out, your profile, time of the year, the research companies you register with, and much more.

While you can make hundreds of dollars a month taking surveys, it will not make you a wealthy man or woman. I use surveys strictly as a supplemental income to help with some of my expenses: car payments, DirecTv bill, DVD rentals, and clothing. For me, it really helps to have an extra several hundred dollars pouring into my bank account every month.

You can easily make a couple thousand dollars a year just by filling out surveys. But once again, if this is your goal, you must fill out as much surveys as possible. While you won't be a wealthy person just by filling out surveys, you can make a substantial amount of money if you constantly fill them out.

Bonus Tip #1: Fill out your profiles after you register. This will make your survey invitations more targeted and less general. This also increases your chance of be selected to participate in the next survey.

Bonus Tip #2: Use focus groups and product testing to your advantage.

Not sure what these terms mean? Whether your new to collecting or been you have been collecting for some time it's important to know which figures are the Chase figures, Variants or Exclusives in any series because these are generally rarer and more valuable.

So if you don't know what you are looking for you may miss out on a special rare figure at the local market or even worse you may "swap" one without realising it..

Most seasoned collectors will probably known what these terms mean but just in case..

If you're new to the hobby let me explain what it all means for you:

A Regular Figure

A regular figure is your bog basic standard figure. This will be the same as the figure pictured on the box, shown in magazines or seen on the TV ads. These figures are generally mass produced and usually there is no way of knowing how many have been produced.

A Limited Figure or Series

A limited figure or Series is one that has been produced to a limited quantity or production run. A limited release series of figures may have both regular and chase figures available within the production run but the availability and quantities is generally known.

A Chase Figure

A Chase figure is a different version of one or more of the regular figures.

This variation maybe something as small as the color of the eyes, as in Tiffany from Spawn Series 30, or Sarah O'Connor from T3: Rise of the Machines where the chase figure had no cap and windswept hair, or a different color uniform, shirt etc.

With a chase figure this difference is normally intentional and publicised before it's release. Usually there will be a set ratio to it's rarity, eg a case of figures will normally contain 12 or 24 figures with maybe one chase figure in each case ( a ratio of 1:24).

The greater the ratio the higher the rarity and therefore it's value will usually vary accordingly.

The term "chase" comes from the fact that diehard collectors will search out these figures to add to their collections, therefore literally "chasing" them out.

A Variant Figure

A variant figure is similar to a chase figure but hasn't been publicised previous to it's release.

A variant figure is generally a lot rarer due to the fact that the variation is usually due to an unplanned change during production.

This maybe caused by a decision to change the look or colour of part of the figure by the production team or because of licensing issues.

The biggest difference between a chase figure and a variant figure is that a chase figure is a planned and intentional variation whereas a variant figure is unintentional and unplanned.

Another example of this is the McFarlane's Baseball Series 18 set that has two versions of Mariano Rivera. The first figure, produced in very small quantities, has the full version of the glass players entrance door.

If golf is your thing then the costa del sol is perfect for you as its one of the worlds golfing meccas. There are around 50 courses to choose from and most are of a very high standard. A particularly nice course is Santana Golf Course in La Cala and is well worth 18 holes. Bare in mind though if you do play golf in Spain try and avoid July and August as although the green fees will be a lot less than the rest of the year, it can get very hot and is not ideal for playing any sport.

If it is nightlife that you are after then the costa del sol is definetely a good choice. With literally hundreds of bars and clubs to tickle your fancy you will be spoilt for choice on where to spend your evenings.

On the other hand if all the above sounds like just a bit too much activity for you, why not settle for a nice spot of sand on one of the many fine beaches that there are on offer. Lay your towel down, chill out and feel that warm sun on your body.

Other times, you can get newer models of curio cabinets that are relatively cheap, but look like they should cost a small fortune. Obviously, I prefer the latter. I want a cheap cabinet that looks like I spent a lot of money on it.

Just because it is cheap does not I want it to fall apart. When I want something cheap I want something that is still durable and functional. Lower price does not equate to falling apart. I want something that will last and last and last. I do not think anyone wants to buy something that will fall apart no matter the cost.

You can get curio cabinets at almost any retail store, department store, and often you can get lucky and find them at secondhand stores and rummage sales. There are so many of these beauties that it is easy to find them almost anywhere you go. Thrift stores are a great way to save money and get the best product for your needs. They are great for home and office; I even have a curio cabinet in my camper. That's right, no matter where you want to add a few extra collectibles, a curio cabinet can make that space all the better.

Curio cabinets are a great weekend project for that do-it-yourselfer as well. Never before has something been so easy to create than one of these wonderful cabinets. You can get free patterns via the Internet and often you can get them sent to your e-mail box at no charge. You can get fancy ones; you can get plain ones. American Family Foundation

Among the dozens of different groups that have sprouted over the years clamoring for various family-related issues, the American Family Foundation (AFA) has to be one of the most highly-visible and controversial of the lot. The groups has come a long way since being established as a wholly conservative, Christian non-profit organization in 1977 by Rev. Donald Wildmon. At that time, the group was known as the National Federation for Decency and it was based in Tupelo, Mississippi.

One of the areas where the AFA is visible is through the articles that it publishes regularly promoting traditional nuclear family values and the main tenets of Christianity. The group is known for its strong support for Christian missionaries and its intense hatred and opposition against abortion, homosexuality and pornography. They are also known for their role in promoting "clean entertainment" and for preaching the values of thrift and railing against excessive debt.

As an activist group, the AFA is one of the best-organized in the country, especially when it comes to launching boycotts and letter writing campaigns that promote traditional values that they hold dear. Among the more prominent boycotts that the group has undertaken are those against fashion company Abercrombie & Fitch (on the grounds that it uses "softcore pornography in company catalogs"), film distributor Movie Gallery (which it refers to as a "distributor of pornographic videos"), convenience store chain Kmart (for its role in the "Sale of adult-rated music CDs") and athletic brand Nike (for "promoting a back door move to legalize homosexual marriage").

Its track record of activism also includes major boycotts against popular TV shows, movies and businesses that it perceived to be promoting indecency. They have also set out on crusades against some well known and highly regarded consumer brands such as Crest, Volkswagen, Tide, Clorox, Pampers, MTV, Burger King, the Carl's Jr., Kraft Foods, Mary Kay Cosmetics, Old Navy, NutriSystem, and American Airlines.

There is no cause that is too small for the AFA. In fact, in 2004, the AFA launched an attack against the cartoon film Shark Tale on the grounds that the animated flick was brainwashing children into accepting gay rights.

Goal-setting A Daily Affair!

We need to have Long term goals and short term goals.

Long term goals:

Be bold!
Just write down anything outragous!
Its ok, its GOAL anyway, right?

Remember, no invention begins without a BOLD Dream! We will not have computer, if someone dream of having a machine think as fast as us. We will not have car if on one ever though of having a machine to drive us around, we will probably still on horses.

Also, write down not one or tenbut, challenge and push yourself to write down 100 goals! Trust me! its not easy, but it is worth it! To date, i just managed to write 50 of them. Will complete it and rewritten it again every year! Its interesting to see and review yearly goals and notice the priority and importancy changed accordingly due to many factors.

Short term goals:

Be realistic
Achievable.
Something that can make us out of comfortable zone a little

Generally:

Write in present tense as if its already achieve.

Set a date realistically. Its ok to slipped a little, just adjust accordingly.

Be as clear as possible (used of words such as by or from or on)

Be as detail as possible (write down the color, shape, dimension, smell, sound, environmentetc)

Write in positive positive and not negative positive way. (eg, i want to replace smoking with exercise as compare to I want to stop smoking)

Use affirm word and not trying word. (eg, I MUST have as compare to I WISH to or I will TRY to

Set a plan.

Write it down EVERYDAY.

Yes, for short term goal, its important to write it down EVERYDAY! Not many goal setting resources will tell you to write EVERYDAY. YES! EVERYDAY! Why? so that our mind can be congruent to what we aim and shoot for. If possible, start a new day with writing down the goal FIRST THING! This will remind us and tell us each day, what ever we do, are we gearlng it towards our goal!

Remind that this is not those daily achieving goal where I will do this and that today. This is your short term goal which I will encourage everyone to write it everyday!

I started this last year for 3 months and then stopped due to whatever excuses I can find. But during that 3 months, amazingly, I managed to achieve 2 of my goals which i have replaced it this time.

I MUST write down everyday and persistent through. Will use this blog to remind myself!

BTW, you may ask, what if I miss the deadline? Well, reset, review and rewrite again! Hey, rocket scientist do not launch their rocket to moon with one single projectile. The actual path of rocket launch was correted consistently throughout the whole projectile! So...

You = Rocket
Goal = Moon
Deadline = consistently corrected throughout projectile

Thus, by writing down our goals daily, will help us to correct oand review our daily tasks if we are on the right track.

Ask Before You Help

Recently a friend of mine submitted an article to me she wrote about helping out in nature.

After reading the article I was so excited about how well it was done and the message it conveyed, that I was inspired to write an article about her. I immediately published her article to my directory as well as the article I wrote about her.

With all the good intentions of helping her I made two major mistakes. First I judged her situation. Over the years she has given selflessly and has received little compensation for her efforts. From what she has told me, people seek her advice but are unwilling to compensate her for it. Many times she has told me she is just so tired of helping others and not having it returned.

Knowing this I set out to write my article and direct people to her article so that maybe they would visit her site and help her. I did this without her knowledge and with the beautiful message of her article still resonating with me.

The lesson in her article was very clear-sometimes when you set out to help, you make things worse!

I apparently misjudged her and her situation. I published the article and uploaded it to my site. While I was doing that I was having a chat with her online. I told her about my article and how it may help her. She read the article a little bit later and returned an email to me. She was devastated that I would write such an article about her. I had gotten it all wrong and I had hurt her, and she didn't know how I could have done such a thing. I immediately removed the article from my site before anyone had seen it, but it was too late-the damage had already been done. It was now personal. It's been over a week since the article was published and she has not returned my email or chatted with me.

Clearly I blew it. After all the articles and books I have written with this one message in it-I did it myself. I committed spiritual malpractice. I made a judgment and acted on it, without knowing the intention of the soul-her soul. As the saying goes "The road to Hell is paved with good intentions."

Because we can never know what the true intentions of one's soul is, when we interfere no matter how well intentioned we are, we interrupt a natural process that can have harmful effects. This is spiritual malpractice.

Even if the outcome seems to be more positive on the surface, it may not have been the intention of the soul to experience that outcome.

It is OK to offer help to someone, but it is not OK to give it without asking no matter what your intentions are. I think this is something we all do from time to time. We may never no the after effects of what we have done, but we may have delayed a desired result for the other one's spirit. The very best we can do for another without their permission is to wish them well. We are not interfering with a natural result and we are sending positive energy to that person.

Sorry my friend and thank you for a lesson well learned.

Unique Hotels Around The World

Though hotels are all similar in that they all have beds and other accommodations to make staying there much more homelike, there are some very unique hotels in various parts of the world that challenge the concept of the traditional hotel.

The unique treetop hotels in Costa Rica, Kenya and other parts of the world where the hotels are built with very large living trees making up a substantial part of the hotel structure. The treetop hotel in Kenya is built into the trees surrounding a watering hole for the many species of animals that forage there. When you leave the main dining room to go back to your room you are always accompanied by a guard for protection from wild predators. The Ariau Towers in Brazil, near the city of Manaus is in the middle of the Amazon on the Rio Negro and is a similar type of living tree hotel.

Ariau Amazon Towers is another unique hotel, located 35 miles from Manaus, Brazil where the Rio Negro and Ariau Creek meet. Built entirely at the level of the Rainforest Canopy, Ariau's towers are linked together by 4 miles of strong wooden catwalks. This architectural wonder affords visitors a unique communion with the regions teeming plant and animal life while leaving the fragile eco-system completely undisturbed. Bill gates invested in the hotel and had modern telephone / internet connections installed.

Straight out of Neromancer, the Sci-Fi book by William Gibson, but only for the Japanese as of yet, the unique capsule hotels are an economy type of hotel with extremely high occupancy capabilities. Most capsule hotel compartments are only about 6 feet by 4 feet by a little over 3 feet. These hotels are not recommended for large or very tall people. This amount of space certainly gives one enough room to read or sleep, but not much else. Of course if youve got wireless internet the possibilities are considerably expanded.

Capsule hotels are not necessarily frequented primarily by lower income people, but are used by many types of people for many different reasons. For about $25-34 per night, a tired working person who stayed out too late drinking and missed the last train can get a nights rest. There are often discount rates for those wishing to nap for only a couple of hours during the day.

There are several cave hotels throughout the world in such places as Australia, Spain, Turkey, the United States and several other countries. Rooms in cave hotels typically have the entire walls or even two or three walls made out of the mountain or other hard sediment formation that the hotel is built into.

For instance there is the cave hotel in Southern Australia, an Underground hotel and casino, in Coober Pedy.

The Desert Cave Hotel allows you to experience dug-out style living, underground shops, bar and opal display areas. Sleeping underground is a very unique experience. Quiet, cool, dark and airy, the rooms seem spacious with their high ceilings.

The unique Desert Cave Hotel, famous as the only international rated underground hotel in the world, allows you to experience dug-out style living. Its the experience to enjoy if you are in the area.

They have all of the amenities, fine dining, a pool, a beautiful spa and a well equipped gym.

There is one underwater hotel in the entire world that can be reached without the aid of scuba gear which is really a unique hotel. The Utter Inn located in Lake Malaren, Sweden features one large room and visitors can simply walk down into the hotel while viewing underwater. This same company also has an undersea lodge in Key Largo, Florida that does require scuba diving to reach.

The Utter (Otter) Inn in Sweden is a small floating house with a deck for sunning. Its uniqueness is that you descend the stairs into the lake. The bedroom is like an aquarium but you are the fish. There is an inflatable boat so that you can visit a near by un-inhabited island to swim and sun. You will have to buy the deluxe package to have dinner delivered to you (by boat, of course) in the evening.

These are the few totally different and unique hotels around the world. Be adventuresome and check one or two of the out.
